The Natural Entrance to Big Bat Cave
The LiDAR point cloud data can be converted to imagery very easily. This makes for much smaller files that are perfect for displaying the unique features in the cave. The data does lose most of its analysis capabilities when it is converted to a raster but it is extremely useful to display features in the cave. The image above (created by Ben Shinabery) shows the profile of the natural entrance. From right to left the entrance then followed by a sink hole that creates a skylight into the cave passage. It is a remarkable place to be in.
