Welcome to the Big Bat LiDAR Project

The Big Bat LiDAR Project was hatched up between Ben Shinabery and I in my cube.  I am pretty sure it was 2013.  Ben is a surveyors’ surveyor and an early adopter of new survey technology and techniques.  Ben is with QK4 Engineering in Louisville, Kentucky.  I do like new technology if it will help save a cave.  The best way to save a place is to map it.  So really cool tech meets really cool place.  So that is how this project got started.  The Kentucky Karst Conservancy (KKC) could not be more fortunate than to have a partner in Ben and QK4.  I am Ken Bailey and president of the KKC , day dreamer and caver.
